Chief Executive Officer
Chip has been CEO of RedShift Systems since 2010 and has led the company into the life science market. Prior to RedShift, Chip was Director of Uncooled Infrared Products at Lockheed Martin, where he led the technology and market initiatives to develop and fully commercialize infrared imaging products that resulted in over $1 billion in sales for the company. Chip was also COO at Aura Communications, a venture backed fabless semiconductor company developing wireless system-on-chip technologies and was acquired by FreeLinc. Chip has been granted 16 U.S. patents.
Chip received a BA in Physics Summa Cum Laude from Amherst College, a MS in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, and an MBA from Northeastern University’s High Technology MBA Program.
Chief Technology Officer
Eugene is responsible for technology innovation and technical support across the full range of activities at RedShift. Prior to RedShift, Eugene was co-founder and CTO at Aegis Lightwave where he developed its Active Thin Film technology from initial concepts to commercial production of the telecom-qualified devices currently being used today in DWDM optical networks. Aegis was acquired by II-VI Corporation. Eugene also spent several years as a consultant in the Advanced Technology Group at Andersen Consulting where his work included projects in finance, government, automotive, and industrial manufacturing. Eugene has been granted 11 U.S. patents.
Eugene has a BSEE from Yale University, and a MA and PhD in electrical engineering from Princeton University. He has also studied business at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
VP of Engineering
Rick leads the Engineering team at RedShift and is responsible for development, testing and manufacturing of both our TopTIR line of tunable quantum cascade lasers and the ProLaser protein analyzer. Prior to RedShift, Rick was VP of Engineering and Operations at EM4 where he was responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing of lasers and other opto-electronic systems for Defense, Aerospace, Telecom, and Industrial markets. Rick’s prior experience also includes engineering management and Principal Scientist roles at Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
Rick holds a a BS in Chemistry from the University of Florida, as well as a MS in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard University.
